1. Maruti Ciaz Diesel SHVS, 28.09 kmpl Maruti’s mid-size sedan offering, the Ciazsits at the top of the Best Mileage Cars in India list. It is the most fuel-efficient sedan on salein India. The Ciaz Diesel has an ARAI certified mileageof 28.09 kmpl. These figures are better than the Honda City. No surprise, then, that the Ciaz has evenoutsold the City. 2. Maruti Baleno Diesel, 27.39 kmpl In second place on our list of the best mileagecars in India is another Maruti. The Baleno shares its engine with the Swiftor Dzire. Which makes it the third most fuel efficientcar India, behind the Maruti Ciaz and Maruti Celerio diesel DDiS 125. 6. Maruti Swift Dzire Diesel, 26.59 kmpl The Swift Dzire facelift comes with improvedmileage of 26.59 kmpl. This is more than the pre-facelift version’s23.4 kmpl. A few tweaks to the ECU enables Maruti topull this off making the Dzire more fuel efficient than its major competitor, Honda Amaze. 7. New Toyota Prius , 26.27 kmpl At almost Rs. 40 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, theToyota Prius is the most expensive car on our list of the best mileage cars in India. Thanks to a hybrid powertrain, the Prius returns26.27 KMPL overall according to ARAI test figures. The 1.8 L petrol plus 53 kW Electric Motorsetup has a combined output of 122 PS.
